If you want to be a CFO without the long hours, you could try working for a small company. Of course, this is not a position you can start out in. As with any high paying career, it will take many years to work your way up. You must have a degree and you need to start at the bottom.

A hedge fund manager is a person who manages hedge funds, which are basically mutual funds for the wealthy. They make huge commissions because they deal in such high numbers. Again, this is a very stressful job and most retire or get burned out quickly. If you can work hard as a stock broker or mutual fund manager, you may be able to work your way up.

Are you looking for a stable, workable finance career? There are many easier careers out there in finance. Banking is one industry that doesn’t require a lot of time and effort in every position. You can work for a chain or a small bank. Start out as a teller and work your way up, maybe even to the CFO of a small bank. You will work fewer hours in many cases and won’t have as much of a demand. Large banks can be just as demanding as other corporations in similar positions.

If you don’t want to work your way up too high, you can always work as a finance analyst or work in the accounting field. Look at all the different careers available to find something you can do and will enjoy, while still earning a decent salary.
